Fast drivers are masters of many skills.  Below are the elements that need to be mastered to become competitive.  They are listed in the order or difficulty from easiest to hardest.

THE RACING LINE

  • Knowledge of track 
  • Brake points
  • Turn In points
  • Apex
  • Track Out Point
  • Other Reference Points
  • Head pointed towards next point

 CONSISTENCY             

  • Practice
  • Concentration

SMOOTHNESS

  • Braking (don't stab the pedal)
  • Steering  (Push not pull)
  • Neutral throttle

EXIT SPEED   

  • Know the Track Out Point
  • Unwinding the Steering Wheel gradually
  • Steer/Drift Out to the Track Edge.
  • Apply throttle earlier 
  • Smooth Acceleration

ENTRY SPEED 

Slow and Medium-Speed Corners ·        

  • Later, harder braking (Find threshold without "stab")

Fast Corners

  • Earlier, lighter braking (Don't over brake) · 
  • Early throttle

CORNER SPEED                                

  • Neutral Attitude
  • Correct Power Through the Apex
